A Celebration of Renewal, Community, and Queer Magic
On the 17th of March 2024, the second edition of the Equinox Extravaganza lit up the Genezareth Church in Neukölln, Berlin, welcoming queers and allies to mark the start of spring with music, movement, and heartfelt connection. This conscious queer event and sober party offered a sacred yet vibrant space to honor the balance of day and night, the cycles of nature, and the extravagant beauty of individuality.
Rooted in the ancient traditions of the Equinox and infused with contemporary queer creativity, the event celebrated the balance of light and dark, individuality, and collective joy. The majestic Genezareth Church, with its round design and purple-hued lighting, was the perfect backdrop for this transformative celebration.
Throughout the evening, the Cozy Haven Room provided a tranquil space for participants to recharge. The event emphasized inclusivity, encouraging all—regardless of their singing or dancing abilities—to join as their unique selves.
Live music opening & welcoming words set the tone for an evening of joy and renewal.
Equinox intro & intention-setting ceremony, led by Roby, guided attendees through a shamanic singing circle, reconnecting them to the sacred memory of Two-Spirit traditions and empowering everyone to set intentions for the season ahead.
Sasha closed the evening with an ambient live set, creating a serene soundscape for reflection and integration.
Singing & sounding, co-led by Joana (aka Saturnia), featured original songs celebrating unicorns, faeries, and queer magic, encouraging participants to sing freely without judgment.
The energy soared during movement & dance sessions, with DJ Andeel (Tami) dropping beats filled with Psytrance Spiciness and Oriental Downtempo rhythms.
KARMA SHE mesmerized the crowd with a sensual movement wave, guiding attendees to explore their inner rhythm, spirals, and shakes.
