Recovering the Two Spirit memory

Honoring the Legacy
Rediscovering the Sacred Roles of

Queer Identity

Long before colonization, Two Spirit individuals—known by names like Winkte, Qariwarmi, and Weye—were honored members of indigenous tribes across Abya Yala (the Americas). They were the keepers of stories, the guardians of culture, the healers, and the bridge between masculine and feminine energies within their communities. This workshop invites you to reconnect with this sacred lineage, remembering the wisdom and power that has always been yours.

Reclaiming Ancestral Wisdom and Identity

What to Expect

This immersive experience begins with a sharing circle, where we explore and honor the recovered knowledge of what it meant to be Two Spirit—spanning roles like ceremonial leaders, artists, healers, and cultural connectors. Together, we’ll reclaim these memories and acknowledge the vibrant thread that Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ people weave into the fabric of humanity.
